Ortisei
Perfect destination for a dream holidayFeaturing the beautiful village centre of Val Gardena and located near some of the most exciting sightseeing attractions in the region.
The skiing above Ortisei is made up of two completely different ski areas.
Unlike the other two resorts in the valley, they are not really connected to one another. The first, to the south, is the plateau of the Alpe di Siusi, better known in German as the Seiser Alm and an intermediate’s paradise of short blue and red runs set in stunning scenery. The second, on the northern side, are the connecting pistes and lifts to the main bowl above Santa Cristina.
Ortisei, together with S. Cristina and Selva Gardena, is one of the three municipalities of the Val Gardena, considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Tyrol because of its uniquely beautiful location and the hospitality of its inhabitants. As the main village of Val Gardena, Ortisei has a wonderful pedestrian zone with shops, cafés and restaurants.
Rasciesa and Seceda can be reached directly from the village by cable cars and are a paradise for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts. From Ortisei, you can also reach the Alpe di Siusi, a unique hiking and skiing area and the largest high-alpine meadow in Europe, using a modern lift. In addition to German and Italian, Ladin is spoken in Ortisei.
